Adventure must be in pursuit of a personal passion or nurture a nascent professional interest
Preference will be given to adventures that are interdisciplinary, bringing in elements from various disciplines such as the arts, athletics, science, or the public interest
Preference will be given to projects that are somehow unorthodox, risky, or creative
Participants must commit to a day/weekend in Chicago to present an update on their project.
On Unorthodoxy, Risk, and Creativity
Unorthodoxy: This notion goes beyond the non-traditional and includes elements of surprise and experimentation.
Risk: Can be manifested in numerous ways, but at a minimum should be reflected in the uncertainty around the outcome of your endeavor.
Creativity: Defined in its literal sense as creating or building and can apply, for instance, to products, services, ideas, movements, and works of art.
Naturally, aspects of feasibility and fit will also play a role in the selection process, but we encourage candidates to push the bounds of their projects.
